Technical Information

Swim (1km-2/3 mile) : In deep water parallel to shore. Supervised and patrolled by BASRA (at least 3 boats). Water temperature will be between 70 and 80. Wet suits may be worn. Start will be from the beach (standing in water). Wave (staggered) start. Finish will be onto beach (sand) and across road to transition area.
  
Cycle (25km-15 miles) : Will  be on excellent, smooth tarmac road surface, though attractive surroundings on roads free from traffic. We ride on the left. No support vehicles will be permitted.
No support personnel will be permitted in transition area. Helmets are recommended.
  
Run (5km 3.1 miles) : On a separate route from the cycle ride. Water will be available at several points along the course. The course will be in a quiet residential area, on good surfaces.



Rules & Regulations

The event consists of two types of races run simultaneously: 

1. Individual 
2. Relay.

The swimmer on the relay team may also complete as an individual.


Relay teams must consist of two or three members each completing one of the disciplines. Complete one Entry Form for each team or individual (where individual is competing on a Relay Team, complete both sections.)

Each competitor is required to sign and the Waiver of Liability.

All decisions of the Rules Committee will be final.

No support vehicles will be allowed on the course.

Runners and Cyclists are to stay on the tarmac surfaces

All competitors are to register with race organizers between 6:30am and 7:30am, Saturday, November, 3rd, 2007 (for numbering and securing bicycles etc.) at Taino Beach Car Park. Triathlon start time is 8:00am.

Calculate age as of day of competition.

Competitors can enter one relay only in each category.

Competitors are responsible for the safety of their own equipment, although the transition areas  will be supervised throughout the race.

Overall winners will not place in age categories. Individuals may participate as the swimmer on a relay team. Family teams consist of parent(s) and sibling(s). Relay teams may consist of 2 or 3 members.


AWARDS (Male and Female)

• 1st, 2nd, 3rd Overall

• First three in all categories (excluding over all winners).

• Fastest Swimmer, Cyclist, Runner from individual race.

• Medals to all finishers.
